Objective of the Program
The GCDF certified program is a specialized training that aims to develop modern skills and knowledge in career management counseling.
Career Consultants, who obtain the international GCDF certification title, can effectively meet the demands of a dynamic and ever-evolving, human-centered job market.
Brief History
The GCDF certified training program began in 1997 as a joint initiative of the Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE), the National Career Development Association (NCDA), and the U.S. National Occupational Information Coordinating Committee (NOICC).
Since then, the GCDF program has grown and evolved, offering certification that adapts to the characteristics and needs of the countries in which it is implemented.

Duration
120 hours of training including:
- Theoretical training
- Case Stydies’ Analysis
- Practical exercises and role playing
- Practical application with supervision
Part of the training can also be carried out remotely (distance learning).
Evaluation
To successfully complete the program and obtain the GCDF certification, continuous evaluation is carried out.

Recertification
The GCDF certification title is valid for five (5) years.
Seventy-five (75) hours of practical experience or participation in educational activities, such as seminars, conferences or professional activity related to one of the GCDF's Thematic Axes, are required for recertification during the five-year validity of the certification.
